The international observers for the 2015 general elections have called for the cancellation of the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections in Rivers State.
According to a report. Humphrey Bekaren, who spoke on behalf of the observers, he is also the leader of African Centre for Leadership Strategies and Development said, that INEC disregarded the vast reports of violence and irregularities in the state.
According to him, what happened in Rivers, was far from what elections should be.
He said "What we saw did not meet international standard of electioneering, not even the ones set by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC". (Rephrased, based on News Agency of Nigeria's Report).
This means the results stating Barrister Nyesom Wike as the governor-elect maybe retracted.
